Coach Lora Erickson also known as the Blonde Runner is a passionate, top-performing athlete and long-time running and triathlon coach as well as Life Coach and motivational speaker.
She started running at an early age and found running to be a great outlet for life’s stresses and loved to push herself. She discovered her true talent for distance running in high school as one of Colorado top distance runners. She was recruited to run for the University of Utah on scholarship and later transferred to Utah State University where she was an All-Conference runner and graduated with a degree in Health Education with minors in Nutrition and Chemistry as well as a USATF running coach certification.
She has fully embraced coaching and athletics as a career and has enjoyed working with all level of athletes over the years, helping each of them reach their potential.
After her college running days she became a mother of four (plus one in heaven) and has continued to compete over the years. She isn’t satisfied with just finishing races and loves to push herself to reach new goals. She has qualified and competed in two Ironman World Championship 70.3 events (one in Tennessee and one in Africa) as an All-World Athlete. She has also earned USAT All American recognition. Lora plans to continue to compete at the highest level even as a master athlete with a goal to compete in all 50 States and 7 continents. She is driven to succeed.
Coach Lora loves to adventure in the outdoors. In addition to triathlon swim-bike-run training and coaching, she loves to fish (she catches her own worms), camp, hike, backpack, watch movies, do yoga, dabble in martial arts, cook, garden and eat. She loves to try new things even foods like jellyfish!
Coach Lora is heavily involved in her community helping a local multimillion dollar five-city facility start a racing series as well as puts on her own annual Memorial Day charity event, RaceForGrief.com in honor of her daughter who passed away. Lora understands how to overcome challenges and remain positive and grateful. She takes a personal interest in each athlete she works with and maintains there is no one-size-fits all program. Each person is treated as a unique individual. She aspires to help others achieve their fitness goals and live better lives. Coach Lora believes success is a process that can be taught and applied.
