All About Me..

When did you start running? I started running in high school really just to stay in shape in the off season for other sports. It wasn’t until after college that I fell in love with running.

Why do you run? I find that I’m a better “me” when I’m running regularly. I am a mother of two kids, a wife of an air force pilot, and the public relations director for Weber County. Life is crazy and I find my sanity, strength, rejuvenation, patience, and laughter when I’m lost in the mountains. For me, it’s not about being the fastest runner, but experiencing the journey and making memories and friendships along the way.

Favorite distance: 8-12 miles

Do you supplement running with other types of fitness? I try to add hot yoga and spin classes but when the weather is nice it’s hard for me want to work out inside.

What’s on your running playlist? Most of the time I’m sans music

If you could choose anyone to train with, who would it be and why? I’m counting the days until my daughter is old enough to run some miles with me. She is a force and it will be a real pleasure to share mountain adventures with her.

What role does nutrition play in helping you reach your fitness goals? I need to improve in my nutrition… less sugar and less wine would most likely improve my running, buuuuuuuttttt I’m not willing to give that up. :)

What do you do to overcome mental/physical challenges while running? Grab a friend and find a new trail to explore.

Road running or Trail running? Trail running… always.

What is your spirit animal? Probably a turtle

Do you have a running partner/s? I love running with friends and I love running alone. Both are good for my soul… but I do ALWAYS love running with my dog. His excitement is contagious and he’s always up for anything.

Why do you wear compression? My legs feel more alive, especially on long run… and since I run trails, the higher compression sock help protect my legs from brush.
