All About Me...

Why do you run?  Too many reasons; It’s my passion, it keeps me feeling my best and feeling fit, it’s my goal to continue running as long as I can and right now I’m at the age of 46 and seeing those in their 60’s/70’s/80’s, inspire me to keep moving forward.  I want to inspire my kids to keep being involved in the sport they love, even when they get out of school.  

Favorite distance: 13.1 and 26.2

Bucket List Races:he Boston Marathon has been accomplished, now it’s Tulsa Route 66 Marathon and NYC Marathon

Do you train according to any particular plan/method? I sorta of find a plan and tweak it to fit my schedule.  Most times I end up doing whatever, but for sure keeping weights and yoga in my routine.

What 3 words best describe your typical race strategy?  Just 3?-ha!  Focus, form, controlled breathing

What’s on your running playlist? TobyMac, Whitney Houston, but mainly put shuffle on Spotify.

If you could choose anyone to train with, who would it be and why? (could be more than one person) Olympian Sprinter, Allyson Felix. She’s graceful, seems really kind and always focused on the track. She’s way younger than me, but I love her attitude. She’s a great role model and very humble.

What’s your go-to pre-run meal? I do just fine with coffee or Run Gum in my system.

What do you do to overcome mental/physical challenges while running? I try to focus on maintaining my form, keeping my hands relaxed and staying hydrated.

Road running or Trail running? Trail running is my favorite, but I mostly do road running.

Do you belong to any running clubs/groups that you’d like to give a shout-out to? (TMT) Tuesday Morning Track and Joplin Roadrunners

Why do you wear compression?  I love socks that standout from others.  Lily Trotters not only look stylish, but they really do keep my legs feeling unstoppable.  My legs never feel tired and squeezed and I never have to worry about dreading to take them off.  LT’s keeping me moving strong through my daily life, during and after my races.

What do you like about Lily Trotters compression socks? They keep my legs feeling like they can go on forever.  They don’t squeeze my legs.  I always feel recovered, they are super stylish which motivates me when I’m on the run!
